Research Civil Engineer John Rushing, PhD, PE serves as the principal investigator for the Engineering Systems and Materials Division Research Group of ERDC’s Geotechnical & Structures Laboratory (GSL). Rushing is well known for his strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills. Over the past several years, Rushing and his team at ERDC-GSL have created numerous innovations that have been transformative to the field of pavements engineering on a global scale. In 2019, Rushing and his team of five were honored to receive USACE’s nationally competitive Innovation of the Year Award for Induction Hot Mix Asphalt (iHMA).
